March and April of 2020 were scary. We all hunkered down as the first wave of the pandemic overtook the country. Two weeks into quarantine and McDonald’s needed to get something on air telling people their drive thru was open. We didn’t want to say “now, more than ever,” or mention “these unprecedented times.” When we thought about it, the only thing we could say to the country was “we’re here with a tray of something normal. Although everything is dark, our lights are on.” We had 20 DP’s spread across the country sending us footage each day to bring this to air. I later found out it was one of our industry’s very first remote productions. Our director, Ryan Booth, was featured in a couple outlets explaining how he, and Pulse, invented the process from the ground up.
